China to provide Rs7b grant for reconstruction of damaged schools in Sindh
ISLAMABAD (PEN) : China will provide a grant assistance of Rs7 billion for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of 100 fully damaged schools in Sindh province, which were affected by the monsoon floods of 2022. The grant, facilitated through the Chinese International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDA), has received approval from the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) for the revised concept clearance of the project. The initiative aims to address the significant damage to schools in four districts of Sindh, with a focus on areas with high percentages of school damage. The funds will be allocated proportionally, with the highest share going to Khairpur, followed by Larkana, Hyderabad, and Sukkur. The project will benefit a total of 13,619 students in the urban areas of the specified districts.
