COAS Asim Munir asks youth to guard against propaganda on social media

RAWALPINDI (PEN) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir has asked the youth not to fall prey to propaganda being spread on social media as it aims at creating despair and chaos in the country.

The COAS was addressing the Pakistan National Youth Conference in Islamabad on Wednesday. He said there was a need to verify the news shared on social media, adding that society remained chaotic in the absence of “positive thinking and research”.

He reiterated that the Pakistan Army was ready to deal with all sorts of internal and external threats and conspiracies, adding that no compromise would be made on sovereignty of Pakistan.

The purpose of creating Pakistan was that our religion, civilisation, and culture were different from those of Hindus in every respect, and not to adopt Western civilisation and culture, he highlighted.

He stressed that the youth should have immense confidence in their homeland, nation, culture, civilisation, and in themselves.

“The young generation of our country are the custodians of the bright traditions of this nation, and the interpreters of the dreams of Iqbal and the Quaid,” he said.

The COAS said Allah Almighty had blessed Pakistan with abundant mineral resources, agriculture, and a youthful workforce. “If Pakistan exists, so do we; if not, we are nothing,” he said.
