‘One nation, one law’: PTI unveils manifesto for Feb 8 polls

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Barrister Gohar Khan on Sunday presented the manifesto for the much-awaited elections slated to be held on Feb 8, 2024.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Gohar said PTI’s manifesto was titled ‘Shandaar Pakistan, Shandaar Mustaqbil aur Kharaab Maazi sey chutkara’.

While announcing the election manifesto, he said the PTI manifesto has been premised on ‘Naya Pakistan and system of change’ as he mentioned to introduce amendments to the constitution if voted to power.

“Due to this amendment, the PM will come to power directly due to the people’s votes and he will not be dependent on the votes of a few MNAs,” he added.

Further, he said the party would reduce the term of the assembly from five years to four years as the Senate’s term would be reduced from six years to five years while mentioning that 50 percent of the Senators would be chosen directly by the people.

He specifically highlighted that the party’s manifesto is one nation, one rule so that all are equal while mentioning that two laws cannot work in one country as the rule of law is the most important thing.

Gohar added that PTI would establish another Truth Reconciliation Commission after coming to power to address the injustices faced by the common man.

He added that if his party came into power, it would also provide social security for all people.

The PTI leader emphasised it was necessary to get rid of corruption and promised that the party would introduce an initiative that would keep a tougher eye on the issue.

Talking about foreign policy, the PTI leader said Pakistan needed to have an equal relationship with all countries.
