PTI’s Ghulam Murtaza Satti, confidants join PPP

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Murtaza Satti and confidants on Tuesday decided to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ahead of the general elections scheduled to take place on February 8.

The development came after Satti called on PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad. On this occasion, Satti decided to announce support for the candidates nominated by the PPP.

Expressing his thoughts, Zardari said, ‘’I welcome Ghulam Murtaza Satti and his confidants to the PPP. We will spring our surprise in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.”

Zardari lavished his praise on the party workers, saying, ‘’The PPP workers have a rich history of struggling and standing by the party. The political workers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad had embraced democratic principles.”

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Saeed Ghani claimed on Sunday that his party was the ‘’best option to solve myriad problems.

Expressing his thoughts in Karachi, the former Sindh minister said, ‘’All the political parties are standing united against me’’.

He took a jibe at the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), saying, ‘’The JI had no idea how many problems existed. These people [JI] are not even crediting us for our good initiatives.’’
