Opposition parties only want to save their corruption, says Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan taking a jab at the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) said all opposition parties have gathered under one flag to save their corruption.

Khan made these comments while addressing all Pakistan Insaf Lawyers Forum in Convention center Islamabad on Friday.

The Prime Minister said that they have only one agenda to halt accountability process. “They do not believe in rule of law in the country.”

He once again cleared that he will not come under pressure tactics of the opposition parties and vowed to continue the accountability process. Former president Pervez Musharraf after succumbing to pressure gave NRO to both Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People’s Party, PM Khan claimed.

Furthermore, the PM slammed Mohammad Zubair, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s spokesperson, for comparing the PML-N supremo to Ayatollah Khomeini.

“I was watching TV and he was comparing Nawaz Sharif to Ayatollah Khomeini during the interview,” said PM Imran. “He [Zubair] was saying that Khomeini was also exiled,” added the premier.

Khan said Khomeini was sent abroad on gunpoint while Nawaz faked numerous illnesses to do the same.

Recalling a cabinet meeting which lasted for six hours on Nawaz Sharif issue, he said, “When the doctors told us that Nawaz was suffering from so many diseases, I saw that our Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari was crying.”

He said the former prime minister by sitting in London is inviting people to hit the streets.

The prime minister said on the other hand that he enjoys good relations with the armed forces because the intelligence agency knows about his lifestyle.

“Their problem is not democracy, I am a democrat,” he said. “I got elected from five constituencies,” he added.

“The day they get an NRO, I am telling you, Pakistan will go down,” he said. “If they should be given an NRO, then why should we not extend the same favour to the poor languishing in prison.”
