Azerbaijan sees 5% rise in electricity exports

In March 2021, the electricity production in the country increased by 65.8 million kWh to 2,364.3 million kWh, Report informs citing Ministry of Energy.

The exports made up 175.1 million kWh, while imports stood at 11 million kWh.

In January-March 2021, the electricity production across the country made up 6,924.9 million kWh.

In the reporting period, the production in the Thermal Power Stations (TPS) dropped 59.1million kWh to 6,604 million kWh, in Water Power Stations (WPS) grew by 15.69 million kWh to 236.09 million kWh, in other sources fell by 4.7 million kWh to 84.9 million kWh. Wind Power Stations produced 22.56 million kWh of energy, Solar Power Stations – 9.2 million kWh, and Solid waste incineration plant – 53.14 million kWh.

Energy production from Azerenergy OJSC stood at 6,257.2 million kWh (TPSs – 6,041.3 million kWh, WPS – 215.9 million kWh), from State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) – at 81.64 million kWh (TPSs – 56.08 million kWh, WPS – 17.13 million kWh, Solar Power Stations – 8.43 million kWh), from other Power Stations – 569.8 million kWh, from Wind Power Stations of Azerishig OJSC – at 16.24million kWh.

In January-March 2021, the electricity imports made up 32.1 million kWh. While the electricity exports stood at 509 million kWh.
