China-U.S. cooperation, the only way to fight global climate change

China and U.S. cooperation is the only correct choice to fight global climate change. That’s the message from China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi who was speaking in a video meeting with US climate envoy John Kerry.

Wang Yi also said that Washington should stop treating China as a threat, and take substantial steps to improve the China-US relationship.

Kerry agreed cooperation between the two countries is essential for confronting the global climate change challenge. Kerry is in northern China’s Tianjin for the discussions after his visit to Japan.

Kerry visited China back in April, when the two sides agreed to strengthen the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement.
