Soft Image of Pakistan can be promoted through global educational linkages, Secretary IBCC

Islamabad, 13 October: Pakistan’s soft image can be promoted through global educational linkages and IBCC is playing a constructive role in creating ease of accessing education for foreign students in Pakistan. This was stated by Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Secretary IBCC where he was speaking on the event jointly organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies and Inter Board Committee of Chairmen, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Govt of Pakistan on  “Networking Engagement Hi-Tea To Strengthen Educational Linkages between Pakistan”  held at a local hotel.  The event was meant to build strong education linkages between Pakistan and institutions in your country.  Dr. Mullah said that the IBCC has been recognized as ISO Certified organization, and now working on reforms and digitization of examination records, the establishment of a central repository to verify data of the students for attestation for the ease of business.  Dr. Mallah said that the Equivalence process has been automated & online. The web portal & apps have been developed to facilitate overseas & local students. Students don’t need to submit original certificates for getting equivalence certificates. He said that now, through photocopies students through this e-portal and smartphone app can apply for equivalence certificates and we instead of getting original certificates from students will cross-check the authenticity of photocopies from the country/boards concerned. The digital payment component has also been integrated. The applicants can easily track the status of their applications. Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) is a Federal institution established in1972 to exchange information among the member Boards on all aspects of intermediate and Secondary Education. IBCC is also responsible for advising on and facilitate the exchange of teachers and students, authentication of Educational documents issued by the recognized examining bodies, and equivalence of foreign qualification up to Higher Secondary level.IBCC also determines equivalence of Foreign/Indigenous educational qualification at SSC & HSSC level. Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) in Islamabad based on independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit research, advocacy, and Public Diplomacy Think and Do Tank. The event was attended by the Ambassadors of Argentina, Indonesia, South Africa, Yemen, and Morocco, while diplomats from Noway, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran, Russia, Myanmar, Jordan, Palestine, Turkey, Vice-Chancellors, Academicians, journalists and members of the civil society.
