ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal stated that speeding up work on CPEC projects is a major priority for the government. Speaking to the media about the various projects approved by CDWP, he said a 900 billion rupees power project at Diamer Bhasha dam had also been approved. He stated that construction on the Gwadar water supply scheme will be completed by September this year, and that work on the 1.2 million gallon per day de-salination facility will be completed by October to address the city’s water shortage. He also stated that the new Gwadar International Airport would be ready by March 2023. He informed that the coalition government had begun talks with the Chinese side in order to begin the long-awaited ML-1 railway project under CPEC.
