‘Classics quoted by Xi Jinping’ launched in Russia

To mark Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Russia, the second season of “Classics quoted by Xi Jinping” (in Russian) was launched Monday on major TV stations in Russia.

The series features quotes from ancient Chinese texts used by President Xi in his speeches and articles.

Shen Haixiong, President of China Media Group (CMG), jointly launched the program with Oleg Dobrodeev, CEO of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK).

Both sides stressed the importance of using mainstream media to respond to global initiatives aimed at improving people’s lives, promote exchanges and mutual learning between China and Russia, and support the building of a global community with a shared future.

Shen said China and Russia share similar cultures and values, and this series of programs will not only help the Russian people better understand President Xi’s leadership style and governance concepts, but also let them appreciate the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Dobrodeev stated that over the years the two sides have cultivated a strong friendship and trust through close cooperation in co-producing documentaries and news reports. He said he believes the prospects in terms of future cooperation are boundless.

“Classics quoted by Xi Jinping” has been translated into multiple languages, including Russian, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. The program has reached over 4.798 billion people outside China, garnering enthusiastic responses worldwide.
